How to Actually Wash Your Face
Most guys either skip washing their face or use bar soap and call it done. Both approaches lead to the same place: breakouts, dry patches, and skin that ages faster than it should.
The 3-Step Routine
You need three things: a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer, and sunscreen. That is it. Anything beyond that is optional until these three are locked in.
Step 1: Cleanser
Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser morning and night. Massage onto wet skin for 30-60 seconds. Rinse with lukewarm water — hot water strips your natural oils.
Step 2: Moisturizer
Even oily skin needs moisturizer. Without it, your skin overproduces oil to compensate. Gel moisturizers for oily skin, cream moisturizers for dry skin. Apply to slightly damp skin for better absorption.
Step 3: Sunscreen
SPF 30 minimum, broad-spectrum, every morning. This is the single most effective anti-aging product you can use. Apply even on cloudy days.
Tip: Don’t change everything at once
Introduce one new product every two weeks. If your skin reacts, you will know exactly what caused it.
Common mistake
Using body soap on your face. Body soap is too harsh and has the wrong pH for facial skin. Get a dedicated face wash.
